Role Summary: 

The Communication Coordinator will join a diverse team of innovative business professional that are working to advance sustainable technology in natural resource exploration. Scient is looking for someone who is a storyteller at heart and can amplify the quick advancements that are being made in the development of their product. This role will be heavily Public Relations and Marketing focused with administrative duties as needed to bring the technology to market. The successful applicant will work in the following three modalities: Public Relations: • Write a variety of different content to support communications and marketing efforts, including newsletters, website copy, and brochures and press releases • Identify relevant funding opportunities, and prepare materials for granting agencies and foundations • Manage and respond to project-related communications including email • Document all activities and interactions internally • Assist with the preparation of articles and presentations • Conduct web research to uncover appropriate contacts, teams, policies and projects based on Scient product portfolio Administration: • Attend project meetings and summarize progress reports • Provide administrative support to the team • Provide editing support, including proofreading and copy editing • Maintain documentation of relevant policies, procedures and reports • Support data collection and analysis Work with industry data • Maintain accurate records of interviews safeguarding the confidentiality of subjects • Assist with preparation of educational and training workshops and evaluation strategies • Help develop assessment and evaluation tools Marketing: • Create online content and lead social media and handle online presence • Review industry events and create a managed, trackable calendar • Review and archive existing presentations on company SharePoint; build and prepare new presentations as necessary Preferred qualifications: • Exceptional writing and interpersonal communication skills • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team • Excellent organizational skills, time management, and strong attention to detail • A graduate degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in Business administration, Public Relations, Commerce, or relevant fields with less than 2 years of experience • Experience with utilizing social media to disseminate information Competencies: • Attention to detail, flexibility, reliability, and the ability to embrace the unexpected • Ability to conduct market research and clearly communicate research findings to key stakeholders • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and initiatives at once • Self-motivated, strong team player • Outgoing, friendly, and positive personality adaptable to a professional environment • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ideally with a blend of business acumen and technical aptitude How to apply: Send a cover letter and resume to contact@scient.ca Note: Use the cover letter as an opportunity to elaborate on your previous involvements in similar projects or work experience that make you a good candidate for this position.
