The Emera ideaHUB at Dalhousie University is an advanced incubator and maker-space that empowers the next generation of innovators, entrepreneurs, and start-ups building physical products. It is strengthening Atlantic Canada’s innovation culture by building networks between universities, companies, governments, entrepreneurs and investors. Founded on a shared commitment between the private sector, post-secondary institutions, and government, and made possible by the contributions of our supporters, the Emera ideaHUB is available to participants while they work to complete key milestones in the development of innovative products. Providing expert programming and guidance, top-of-the-line gear, industry engagement, and modern work spaces to startups that might otherwise struggle to access such supports on their own. The Emera ideaHUB is supporting new companies emerging from engineering and applied-science research that are creating advanced prototypes for innovative physical products so startups can become investment ready. Offering a path to commercialization in the traditionally underserved and underfunded segment of the technology market focused on physical hardware and products, the Emera ideaHUB is translating new ideas into impact.
